We create high quality workshops that engage parents, teachers and children to learn valuable lessons
Stories weave a rich tapestry of history and culture
Stories can weave a rich tapestry of history and culture as well as embed key language and literacy skills.
Using a story-telling format is a creative and exciting way of providing high quality enjoyable learning experiences. So parents and teachers as well as children and young people can all work together to learn valuable life lessons from our workshops.
You are never too old to enjoy a good story!
Anansi’s stories always provide a moral foundation and the spider’s web represents all the intricacies of the web of life.
Anansi is a well-known traditional African folk tale character – Anansi the spider man. He is known as the guardian or keeper of the stories. Anansi is a quick-witted character and is the trickster in many traditional stories.
Learning together
Research demonstrates that children achieve their educational potential with the input of their families and the community to which they belong.
Our aim is to create a space where children and families can come together to learn through the medium of story-telling; to enhance communication, language and literacy across the generations and to develop communities that have positive interactions based on a shared ethos.
Our Belief
We believe that this is a great way to promote family engagement in their children’s education. We see this approach as crucial, based on a recent study showing that “educating parents can improve children’s outcomes.” Family Learning Works – An Inquiry into Family Learning in England and Wales Chaired by Baroness Howarth of Breckland, OBE, October 2013.
